Drawing on decades of synth craftsmanship, the Moog Muse is a standout modern polysynth, blending vintage style, innovative design, and rich tone. Its 8-voice bi-timbral operation offers easy dual-sound creation, with extensive per-stage controls for full expression. The 61-key semi-weighted keyboard connects to two voltage-controlled oscillators, two LFOs, a modulation oscillator, dual filters, two ADSR envelopes, and an onboard VCA—all navigated through 44 knobs, 16 sliders, and 129 buttons.
Additional features include CV I/O, sequencing, arpeggiation, chord memory, an OLED browser, and Moog’s Diffusion Delay. Built on deep research, the Muse provides detailed Moog sound and modern versatility to elevate any synthesis vision.
ARPEGGIATOR & SEQUENCER ENGINES
Operable via built-in clock controls or an external clock input, the Muse’s arpeggiator engine features front-panel Direction (forward/backward) and Octave Range controls for on-the-fly navigation. Further experimentation within the Muse’s Programmer reveals buildable rhythms, gate length control, and probability settings for myriad percussive and melodic creations.
The synth’s sequencer engine offers adjustable 16-, 32-, 48-, and 64-step sequences with Play, Record, Advance, and Reset controls. Of course, accessing the sequencer via the Programmer panel provides expanded gate length and velocity controls and sequence saving for future recall to use alongside any factory or user-created preset.
MODULATION MAGIC
In addition to its dual onboard LFOs, the Moog Muse’s dedicated voltage-controlled modulation oscillator engine supplies an entirely new plane of experimental routing potential that’s capable of manipulating pitch, envelopes, random generation, and much more. The per-voice, per-patch, and sound-shaping possibilities are virtually limitless, spanning gently chorused soundscapes to complex effects dynamics and beyond, with everything being entirely routable on the mod map via 16 modulation slots.
Moreover, with five selectable waveforms under its belt (sine, sawtooth, reverse sawtooth, square, and noise) and a dutiful set of modulation parameters onboard, dictating the exact behaviors of the modulation oscillator to attune to your specific sounds is seamless.
