WHAT IS DJ’ING?
DJ’ing is the art of mixing two or more tracks together in a non-stop flow, using vinyl or CDJ players, digital controllers, or even mobile devices. DJ’ing is not about composing the tracks, rather transitioning between them. Check out this blog post to learn more about the different DJ & Performance set-ups →
WHAT IS MUSIC PRODUCTION?
Music Production is the art of composing a track. The process of writing music covers the main 5 elements of a track: Drums, Melodies, Basslines, Vocals, and Sound Effects. After conceiving the idea and designing/recording the sounds, the music producer arranges the sequences and mixes down the layers before getting into the final stage of mastering.
WHAT IS SOUND DESIGN?
Sound Design is the art of creating a sound from scratch. This process involves many techniques such as Subtractive Synthesis, Additive Synthesis, Sample Modeling, FM Synthesis, Wavetable Synthesis and More. When using a software plugin, one can start oscillating different waveforms and manipulating their shape, frequency, and amplitude, modulating and controlling different aspects of the sound to create a unique signature design. The Sound can then be played on a keyboard or sequenced via MIDI. The same can happen on an analog synthesizer or bass/drum machine.
Check out this blog post to read more about the different types of Synthesis →
WHAT IS MIXING AND MASTERING
Mixing and Mastering are the last two stages of Music Production. Mixing involves balancing the levels of the tracks that have been recorded or produced, fine-tuning the sound of each instrument or voice using equalization (EQ), “Panning” the tracks between speakers to create a stereo image and sonic dimension, adding reverb, compression, and other effects to enhance the original composition. Mastering requires a professional skill of gluing the overall composition and enhancing the master channel and particular sonic characteristics, as well as preparing the track for pressing or digital release and distribution.

WHAT IS LIVE PERFORMANCE?
Live Performance is the art of performing pre recorded compositions using modern technology such as MIDI Controllers and Launchpads. The performer can also use analog or organic instruments to jam on stage.

DO YOU OFFER ONLINE COURSES?
Yes. Because we do not believe in recording a course and selling it online, and since one of our power points is to deliver an expert one-on-one education, we decided to launch our private online courses
Wherever you are, sit back, relax, get connected, and start learning what you love the most. For more information about our online courses please visit the online course page here →
HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE GROUPED IN A CLASS?
Because we care to give the student all the attention required, we have limited the number of students per class to four only. One of the most important advantages is that the students can work in groups and learn from each other, as well as discovering different approaches and perspectives towards DJ’ing and Music Production.
WHAT STYLE OF MUSIC DO YOU TEACH?
We are specialized in Electronic Music however we do not teach you what to produce or what to mix, we teach you how to do so. When you learn the art, technique, and science of DJ and Music Production, you will be able to produce or mix any style of choice, whether it is Pop, Dance, R&B, Techno, House, or even Dubstep, Chillout, Psychedelic and D&B..
DO I HAVE TO HAVE ANY MUSICAL BACKGROUND?
Learning the art and science of DJ’ing and Music Production requires no musical background. We have developed our courses in a way that takes you from zero to hero in no time. You only need to have a passion for what you want to learn about whether you want to take it to another level and start a career or simply learn it as a hobby.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR ADMISSION?
The minimum age for Music Production admission is 15, whereas when it comes to DJ’ing, the minimum age for admission depends on which course you want to take. The “Essential CDJ” Courses, “Vinyl DJ” Courses, and “Live Performance” Courses are open to students of 15 years old and above. If you are below 15 years old, you can enroll in the “Digital DJ” or the “DJ4Kids” or the “Private” courses.
DO YOU HELP ME FIND GIGS OR LABELS?
One of the advantages you learn at Per-vurt is that Per-vurt is also a record label chain that is connected with the world’s top DJs and Producers. We also sequentially host events and give the chance to our top students to perform live and experience the stage. “Per-vurt Sessions” is another platform we provide to our students to be noticed on social media and push their career forward.
DO I GET A CERTIFICATE UPON COMPLETION?
Although we do not believe in major benefits behind receiving a certificate in DJ’ing or in Music Production, and because those two domains are not considered to be academic, we do grant certificates to the students taking the “Master Programs”. Students taking Essential or Private Courses are granted a letter of completion.
It is true that hanging a certificate on the wall looks nice, but what really makes you qualified is your skill in mixing, performing, or composing music.
WILL I BE ABLE TO PRODUCE/DJ AFTER I GRADUATE?
Knowledge, Talent, Skill, Practice, Passion and Patience are the main ingredients of success. At Per-vurt, not only we make sure that you get the most professional tutoring, but we make sure that we will be proud being represented by you in the dance music industry. For that, we have decided to not graduate the student without making sure that he/she is able to produce music.
Upon completion of the Master Program covering both modules, and with your effort to practice as much as required and needed, you will certainly be able to produce music in a professional way.
Taking the “Module One” only does not cover all the courses needed to complete a track professionally, however it gives you a fairly essential education about the early stages of electronic music production and recording

" Per-vurt and G-Mohris are the best thing to ever happen to us music producers in the middle east because we never had any shops that actually sell synths and so on and help other people produce music. G. actually did a music production school which no one did in Lebanon before him, and i took a course there before i moved to UK. He has pushed a lot all the local talents to produce music so we are very thankful to what he did. "
