JUNO-X A LEGACY REBORN
Few synthesizers have made as much noise as Roland‘s Juno duo from the 1980s. The 60 and 106 synth engines, which had the same basic design, produced instantly recognized polyphonic sound. The Juno’s sempiternal sonics have been waiting for a worthy heir for a long time, and the Juno-X has arrived to take up the mantle.
This wouldn’t be a legitimate continuation of the Juno bloodline unless it evolved its predecessors’ engines. Top synthesists are overjoyed to announce that the ZEN-core more than lives up to expectations, featuring an upgraded version of Roland’s iconic Super Saw waveform combined with an equally superb Chorus III mode.
ZEN CORE AND THE POWER OF THE JUNO
Roland’s anthropological research offers the contemporary edition of traditional Juno interface – as intuitive, simple, and powerful as ever. Responsive sliders, gratifying tactility, and a practical layout ensure that you have quick access to the features and capabilities you want, whenever you need them.
The LCD allows for greater depth and exploration while being unobtrusive, making it ideal for sound production, preset recall, and other tasks. Roland’s iconic pitch bend/mod lever is joined by three assignable switches and two assignable sliders, providing even more options to stretch this synth’s muscles. The Juno-X also has “Scenes,” which are creative places with a 256-slot bank for global configuration.
SONIC GEOMETRY AND ONBOARD EFFECTS
The Juno-X’ integrated effects and sound-modeling capabilities give you complete control, and the newly added Chorus III is only the beginning. In the oscillator module, use the Super Saw to dial in waveform mixes, sub frequencies, and more. There are five forms of delay, eight varieties of reverb, five types of chorus, overdrive, and compression modification, as well as a master FX parameter.
Control the LFO, HPF, filter, and envelope parameters on the fly, and save your settings in preset and Scene banks. Choose between the nostalgic arpeggiator of the Roland canon or the forward-thinking, DAW-compatible I-Arpeggiator, which injects flavors of musical motion into your sound using clever algorithms.
LOTS OF MODERN CONNECTIONS
The JUNO-X rear panel is loaded with connectivity for any situation. Balanced and unbalanced audio outputs are available, plus a stereo audio input and MIDI I/O. There’s also a mic input for vocal performing or feeding the onboard Vocoder.
USB audio/MIDI support lets you interface with your favorite production software, and you can even back up JUNO-X settings to a flash drive via the USB Memory port.
